MLB Injury News:
The Cleveland Indians will trade shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera
by next winter, sources told Jordan Bastian of MLB.com.
Spoke with a few sources from other teams who think Asdrubal will be traded by next winter. Aviles' 2+ deal w/ option increases that sense.

Cabrera has been on the trade block throughout the offseason,
and while Cleveland elected to part ways with veteran outfielder Shin-Soo Choo,
they retained the shortstop.
Still, Cabrera’s days in Cleveland could be numbered, as
there are expectations that he’ll be traded by next offseason. Bastian notes
that the Indians’ recent two-year agreement with Mike Aviles only “increases
that sense” that Cabrera will be traded.
The Indians acquired Cabrera from the Seattle Mariners in
the summer of 2006 in exchange for Eduardo Perez. He’s since spent the last six
seasons with the club, acting as its regular shortstop since 2009.
Last season for the Indians, Cabrera hit .270/.338/.423 with
35 doubles and 16 home runs. Over six seasons in the majors, the 27-year-old
owns a career batting line of .279/.342/.416.

A breakout 2011 season saw Asdrubal Cabrera assert himself as one of the best offensive weapons at shortstop. A disappointing 2012 season saw him fall back among the game’s other interchangeable options.
So, which Cabrera is the real Cabrera?
Well, after spending half of last season batting second for the Indians, Cabrera is slated to bat third. That means we’ll definitely see...
One’s first season playing pro ball is full of adjustments, lessons and personal tests. 2011 was a renaissance year for Cleveland Indians pitcher Justin Masterson. He had command of his bowling ball sinker and looked like he was ready to dominate the Majors for some time. He posted a 3.21 ERA over 216 innings and looked like he made a winner out of the Indians/Red Sox Victor Martinez trade. That was 2011. In 2012, we saw Masterson’s command disappear and his...

Well now we get to the fun stuff. That’s right, today we will discuss the “The Bullpen Mafia” as Clevelanders have so affectionately branded the Indians relief corps. Outside of maybe Brian Wilson and Sergio Romo in San Francisco, the Tribe probably has the most unique, fun-loving bunch of characters to ever occupy a major league bullpen. The IBI's Jake Dungan continues...
