The Cleveland Indians have signed pitcher Brett Myers to a one-year deal plus an option for a second season, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports. Financial terms of the deal are not yet known. Myers started the season off with the Astros before being traded to the White Sox in July. At the time, he sported a 3.52 ERA with 19 saves with a 5.9 k/9 and a 1.2 hr/9 in 30.2 innings. After he joined Chicago, Myers transitioned to a non-closer role and went 3-4 with a 3.12 ERA with a 5.5 K/9 in 34.2 innings. The Indians though plan to move Myers back to the starting rotation which is what he prefers. Myers last started on a regular basis in 2011 for the Astros where he went 7-14 with a 4.46 ERA and a 6.7 K/9. Image taken by Keith Allison and used under the Creative Common License Agreement.
