TORONTO -- The challenges facing two injury-ravaged teams just got even greater Friday night as both the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies saw players go down with injuries. The Jays lost their third starting pitcher in five days after Drew Hutchison could only last nine pitches in the first inning before calling for a trainer after throwing an awkward-looking slider to Phillies' Hunter Pence in the first inning. The Blue Jays needed the help of five relief pitchers in order to pick up a 3-0 win over the Phillies. The Phillies, already without Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, and Roy Halladay, lost catcher Carlos Ruiz to an oblique strain in the seventh inning. Ruiz had been Philadelphia's most consistent hitter as he started the day hitting .361. "That's a big one," said Phillies manager Charlie Manuel. "I mean he's our .360 hitter and he's the guy that's been hot. He's the guy that's been consistent. But at the same time he...

The Latest on Roy Halladay and His Latissimus Dorsi Injury
Good news, Roy Halladay's latissimus dorsi muscle is healing a little quicker than expected:
11 Days after setting a three week timetable, Doc has already started throwing. While it is absolutely best to take it slow, it's great to see that Doc is already improving. The last time he pitched in a game was May 27th against the Cardinals. In that game, Roy left with a lingering...
