There were some minor injuries updates that came out yesterday both on the field and from the clubhouse. The Reds got a scare, and the Diamondbacks are nicked up. Here are your injury quick hits.
Homer Bailey took a comebacker off his ankle in the the Reds' matchup against the Cardinals yesterday. Bailey had not been performing well up to that point and was taken out of the game. The Reds' trainer went to the mound with the Dusty Baker, but it appeared as if Bailey was lifted because of performance, not injury.
Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic noted that Jason Kubel was conspicuously out of the Diamondbacks' lineup yesterday. Kubel has little issues that were bothering him. He hopes to play Friday, but the exact reason he missed yesterday's game is not quite clear.
On the other hand, Aaron Hill's absence for the Diamondbacks' finale against the Pirates yesterday was for an obvious reason. Hill was hit on the hand in Tuesday's game and is nursing soreness. The X-rays on the hand were negative, and he too expects to be back Friday says Piecoro.
