Eric Byrnes was designated for assignment by the DBacks yesterday and could be an option for the Yanks. He has a very good 2007 campaign where he hit .286/353/.460, with 21 HR and 83 RBI, he struggled with injuries the last two seasons leading to two horrible offensive lines.

2008: .209/.272/.369, 6 HR, 23 RBI in 52 games.

2009: .226/.270/.393, 8 HR, 31 RBI in 84 games.

The guy gives it more than his all when he plays. It's good to have guys like that on a team. His personality would fit in nicely with the Yankees club house too.

It all depends on health and him regaining his '07 form. If so, he'd be a nice pick up. One man's trash can be another man's gold. Hopefully thats the case if the Yanks choose to sign him.
