(Amy Sancetta/Associated Press)Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com is reporting that Grady Sizemore (who has not played since September of 2011) is looking to re-start his career in 2014. Given the high likelihood that Jacoby Ellsbury will have a new address in 2014, should the Red Sox take a flyer on Sizemore to play center field? The 31-year old has a long history of injury (some would say fragility), but he was a All-Star for three straight years (2006-8). Despite all of his health issues, when he plays, he is pretty darn good. He has a career OPS of .830 and has twice swiped more than 30 bases in a season. He can also go get fly balls with the best of them. Of course, he will need to convince teams that he can recapture that elite playing ability in his early thirties. The Carmine Hose could probably do a lot worse that keeping Shane Victorino in right and putting Sizemore in center—at least until they feel more comfortable about Jackie Bradley, Jr.
