I know you immediately shook your head at the title of this article but hear me out. I am not for or against Moyer suiting up in our Kansas City Blue; the thought just tickles my curiosity enough to dig into it a little more.Jamie Moyer officially cleared waivers on Monday, leaving the 24 year veteran without a home. He leaves the Rockies with a 5.70 ERA but a somewhat respectable 3.72 ERA at hitter friendly Coors Field. I can think of a few of our pitchers who wouldn’t mind that number next to their home split. If the Royals took a gamble on Moyer and he could keep up similar numbers, he may just provide some depth to a rotation that has been stretched thin. There are plenty of concerns with Moyer at this point; and his age not only jumps off the page, it skips and does a cartwheel. However, it seems that the organization doesn’t believe it’s time to showcase some of our young talent at the major league level and Moyer has proved he can still pitch. Would it really hurt to give the...

After being designated for assignment Wednesday, 49-year-old pitcher Jamie Moyer cleared waivers and was released by the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. Moyer, who turns 50 in November, missed the entire 2011 campaign after having Tommy John surgery and struggled this season with a 2-5 record and 5.70 ERA in 53.2 innings. Opposing batters hit .328 and 11 home runs against the left-hander...

The Baltimore Orioles signed 49-year-old left-hander Jamie Moyer to a minor-league deal Wednesday, and assigned him to Triple-A Norfolk. The Colorado Rockies released Moyer at the end of last month, a little over a month after he became the oldest pitcher to win as a starter. Moyer is expected to start for Norfolk on Saturday against Buffalo. On April 17, Moyer earned the win...

Way to Go Out with a Bang: Jamie Moyer Released

It happened a lot sooner than I expected when the season started, but the Colorado Rockies released 49-year-old Jamie Moyer today. I had hoped that he might be able to provide more quality innings for the Rockies, but in recent starts his effectiveness had been poor. The Rockies had no choice but to release Moyer to free up a spot in the rotation for another one of their young starters...

Jamie Moyer, who two months ago became the oldest pitcher to win a major-league game, cleared waivers on Monday, making him a free agent who's eligible to sign with another team. Jamie Moyer Signs Minor League Deal With Baltimore Orioles

Don't count him out just yet. Jamie Moyer, who was cut by the Rockies earlier this month, has signed a minor league deal with the Baltimore Orioles. Moyer, who at 49 was the oldest active major league pitcher during his time in Colorado, played for Baltimore back in the early 90s as well. As a spry 30-something, Moyer went 25-22 over three seasons for the Birds. In 2012, Moyer...

From Roch's Blog: BOSTON - The Orioles added to their ever-growing veteran pitching depth today, signing 49-year-old left-hander Jamie...

Jamie Moyer signs with Orioles

Jamie Moyer's career isn't over, at least yet. The 49 year-old has signed a contract with the Baltimore Orioles, and will start for AAA Norfolk on Saturday. Moyer spent time with the Orioles from 1993 to 1995, which was 17 years ago. That's right, he's going to a team he spent time with before many high school kids were born. This is surreal. Moyer struggled this...
