Those imploring the Red Sox higher-ups to give Jackie Bradley Jr. a shot at the majors have gotten their wish. Bradley will start in left field when the Sox open their 2013 slate Monday morning at Yankee Stadium. The charismatic rookie dominated throughout spring training, finishing with a .419 batting average, and called the opportunity to start the year with the big-league club “an honor.” “I don’t want to say he’s unflappable, but at the same time, he has a very consistent approach,” manager John Farrell said. “This is a young guy that seems very polished at a very early stage in his pro career. … What we know of the individual gives us a lot of confidence and comfort to put him in the position that he finds himself in.” Check out NESN Daily‘s full Red Sox Opening Day preview in the video above.

Jackie Bradley Jr. Living Up to Top Billing As Early Returns Suggest Big League Call-Up Was Warranted (Video)

All spring training long, the conversation focused on whether Jackie Bradley Jr. should start the season with the Red Sox. Now that he is safely up in the big leagues, fans have begun to zero in on his performance — which has been solid thus far. While one game is never enough to paint a full picture of a player’s potential, the hype certainly appears to be warranted for Boston’s...

2013 Yankees: There must be a pony in there somewhere

It's gonna be a long season. Yesterday's Yankees' opener ticked me off for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is to see the major league debut of the highly touted outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. I am not envious of very much about the Red Sox, but I am envious that their fans can cheer on Bradley, who seems like a good dude, as well as third baseman Will Middlebrooks...
