Jake Peavy turned in his second solid outing in three starts for the Red Sox, but Boston’s inability to push runners across left the right-hander on the hook. Peavy held the Blue Jays scoreless through six innings Thursday night before running into trouble in the seventh. Pitching with a 1-0 lead, Peavy allowed the first two runners in the inning to reach (via error and single) before Brett Lawrie drove in the game-tying run with a base hit of his own. Craig Breslow entered to try to limit the damage, but he promptly allowed an RBI single to pinch hitter Mark DeRosa, with the go-ahead run being charged to Peavy. Hear the starter’s evaluation of his performance in the video above. Filed under: Boston Red Sox, Boston Red Sox Video, NESN Video, Red Sox Clubhouse Uncut, Top Stories, Video
