Baltimore Orioles right-handed starting pitcher Jason Hammel completed another rehab start last night as he continues to work his way back from a flexor mass strain. After another successful outing in the minors, Hammel told reporters -- including Jeff Seidel of -- that he feels he's ready to rejoin the Orioles. "I'd say I'm ready," Hammel said. "I don't know exactly what the plan is for the next couple days, but I've done my work, and they've taken good care of me. I feel healthy, so I'm ready to go when they want me." In his first rehab appearance, Hammel logged 2 2/3 shutout frames for the Orioles' Double-A affiliate. Last night, the right-hander appeared for Baltimore's Low-A affiliate, allowing one run on three hits in four innings. After the start, Hammel said that he feels better than he has since early in spring training. As such, he's ready to rejoin the O's, believing he can offer the team a boost as a starter. However, his role is currently up in the air, as his return date. When Hammel hit the disable list in July he was replaced in the rotation by newly acquired right-hander Bud Norris. Baltimore actually added two starters this summer, Norris and fellow right-hander Scott Feldman, leaving the team with six starters for five spots, also including Hammel, Chris Tillman, Miguel Gonzalez and Wei-Yin Chen. Hammel broke up the log jam by hitting the DL, and with his return it's unclear how the team would make room for him in the rotation, if they decide to use him as a starter at all. Hammel also has experience as a reliever, so the O's could ultimately elect to use him in that capacity moving forward. Follow @mlbinjurynews Looking for fantasy baseball advice?

Following his recent rehab appearance, Jason Hammel told reporters that he believed he was ready to rejoin the Baltimore Orioles. It appears the team agrees, as Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports that Hammel is slated to be activated from the disabled list today. Hammel, who's recovering from a flexor mass strain, has made two minor league rehab appearances. Both...

Kid gives Baltimore Orioles pitcher double-barreled middle-finger salute (photo)

Huh. Something tells me this young man isn’t a fan of whichever Baltimore Orioles pitcher was on the mound during a recent Cleveland Indians game (Eye on Baseball speculates that it is Brian Matusz) at Progressive Field. Either that or he just doesn’t like baseball all that much, which is a shame, given the primo […]The post Kid gives Baltimore Orioles pitcher double-barreled...

Apparently...

Why the Baltimore Orioles Are Responsible For Delaying The Start Of The NFL Season

It was reported months ago, but for those looking for a place to vent your frustration aim it towards the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles share a parking lot with the Ravens, and refused to budge their schedule to accommodate the Ravens for what would’ve been their home opener. This is the first time in 11 years the SB winning team has had to start on the road. Scheduling conflicts...

Indians 6 Orioles 4: The Yanimal and a chicken help Tribe in key win

Heading into last night’s all important rubber match with the Baltimore Orioles, the Tribe knew they needed to get some mojo behind them for this stretch run. The brutal nine-game stretch with Atlanta, Detroit, and those Orioles was coming to an end and things didn’t go exactly as planned. They were swept in Atlanta, then lost two of three to the Tigers and badly needed to take...

White Sox-Orioles Preview

A lackluster road trip didn't help the Baltimore Orioles' playoff hopes but a visit from the scuffling Chicago White Sox might. The Orioles will try to keep the White Sox winless on their lengthy trek in Thursday night's opener of a four-game series. Baltimore (73-65) finished 3-6 on its trip after losing its final two games against fellow AL wild card contender Cleveland...
