The Reds released LHP Jeff Francis from Triple-A Louisville at his request on Monday, thus making him a free agent. The 31-year old excercised a clause in his minor league contract that allowed him to opt-out of his deal after June 1st.The southpaw notched a 3-6 record and 3.72 ERA in 12 starts (77.1 IP) with the Bats this season. He owns a 4.78 ERA and a 61-66 mark during his 7-year MLB career. His decision comes on the heels of tossing a complete-game shutout on Sunday. How's that for a farewell performance?

His departure leaves yet another void on the Louisville Bats roster. The last place Bats (18-39) lose the a...
