Your browser does not support iframes. If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Jered Weaver has looked like a Cy Young contender through the early part of the 2012 MLB season, but he could not beat the Rangers on Sunday night. In fact, he was shellacked by them. Just two starts after his no-hitter, Weaver allowed eight earned runs on 10 hits and could not get out of the fourth inning. With the way the Rangers’ offense has been clicking this year, not many pitchers have gone deep into games in Arlington this season. Either he wanted to show Rangers fans that he wasn’t phased by hearing Ray Charles’ “Hit the Road, Jack” after throwing 3 and 1/3 brutal innings, or Weaver just really likes the tune. Whatever the reason, Jered decided to sing along on his way off the mound. Another day, another victim in Texas. At least this one appears to have handled it well. H/T Deadspin

ARLINGTON, Texas Jered Weaver was not auditioning for "American Idol," but as he walked off the mound in the fourth inning Sunday night, he sang along to his own exit music. While the song "Hit the Road, Jack" played over the stadium public address system, Weaver could be seen mouthing the words to the Ray Charles hit. "I was singing the song, 'Hit...

Santana pitches Angels to win, stability in sight

ANAHEIM, Calif. Even when things were at their worst, Ervin Santana remained steady. He never changed his stuff, never lost his confidence, never blamed the Angels' offense for his string of losses. He just kept pitching. Santana figured it would pay off; he just didn't know when. But now he's won two starts in a row, and maybe it's a sign that the Angels are finding...

Angels had no business challenging Hamilton

ARLINGTON, Texas The Los Angeles Angels decided to challenge the best hitter in baseball when they didn't have to. Already trailing by four runs in the fourth inning, Angels manager Mike Scioscia allowed his ace, Jered Weaver, to pitch to Josh Hamilton with one out and runners on second and third. Game Recap 5/15/12: Turning the tables - Angels 4, Athletics 0

After getting shutout for the eighth time last night, the Angels responded the only way they knew how, pitching a shutout of their own.  That would be the fifth time that they have been on the good end of a shutout, meaning in 13 of their 34 games this season, one team has not scored.  Feel the excitement! But seriously, this was actually a very encouraging effort from the Angels...

Angels shaky, but they're not shaking

Perhaps you heard: El Hombre is El Stinko. A month and a half into his first year playing for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Albert Pujols might as well be Mario Mendoza. The 240 million man has so far hit only one home run as he nears 150 at-bats. He's batting below .200 and slugging below .300. Among the not-so-illustrious names with better 2012 power numbers than Pujols...

On hitting coaches
