You know what they say, professional sports is all about the fans (whomever they really is).  Dodgers utilityman Jerry Hairston, Jr. gave back to a lucky fan Tuesday night during the Diamondbacks-Dodgers game at Dodger Stadium.  D’Backs outfielder Chris Young hit a rocket down the left field line.  In an effort to cut down Young at second base, Hairtson hustled over toward the wall and tried to hurry it back into the infield.  The only problem – his throw went backwards.

The throw that looked like something you might expect from former Dodger left fielder/one-man clown show Manny Ramirez, ended up at the feet of a young fan in the front row.  If you watch the slow motion replay, it almost looks like the boy was anticipated the “throw”.

The umpires awarded Young third base since he was on his way to second when Hairston “threw” the ball that ended up out of play.  Base runners get the base they were going to plus another when a fielder cordially awards a ball to a young fan minding his or her own business during the course of a live play.
