Found August 12, 2013 on My Sports Rumors:
PLAYERS: Derek Jeter
TEAMS: New York Yankees
It looks like New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter won’t be back in the majors anytime soon after his third trip to the disabled list. Jete went on the D.L. on August 3 this time with a right calf strain. He’s stayed with the team in New York to work out but will be heading back to Florida when the current homsetand finishes up. Although Derek Jeter was seen throwing at the Stadium over the weekend, he will likely head back to Florida at the conclusion of the team’s home stand. “He’ll continue to increase his work here. When we go on the road, I think he’ll probably go down to Tampa and resume baseball activities,” Joe Girardi said. “I think at some point this week you’ll start seeing him do my favorite, tee and toss.” (New York Daily News) Hearing this is deflating for Yankees fans as it makes a disappointing season get even worse. If Jeter was at least on the field there would be someone to cheer for. The post Jeter no where close to returning appeared first on My Sports Ru...

Yankees' Derek Jeter making strides in recovery from calf strain

New York Yankees' shortstop Derek Jeter, who has been on the disabled list with a calf strain, is eligible to come off the DL this weekend and is making progress, but manager Joe Girardi is unsure if Jeter will be ready by then. As reported by Josh Vitale and Chris Iseman of MLB.com,  manager Joe Girardi isn't sure if Jeter will be ready to come back that soon, though...

Jeter takes BP, but return date uncertain

Derek Jeter took batting practice on the field yesterday for the first time since going on the disabled list with a strained right calf but after a season filled with injuries and setbacks he knows he doesn’t have much say in where he goes from there. “At this point do you think I have any input into anything that goes on around here?” Jeter said of his numerous issues coming...

Derek Jeter on return: 'I'll be ready when I'm ready'

Derek Jeter is eligible to come off the disabled list next Sunday, but — after two other failed attempts to get back in the lineup this season — he made no promises that he will be able to do so as he works to recover from a right calf strain. "I'm confident I'll be ready when I'm ready," he said before Saturday's 9-3 loss to the Tigers. When pressed...

Yankees' Derek Jeter to resume running next week

What a tough year for the New York Yankees and their captain Derek Jeter. After returning to action on July 11, Jeter is already on the disabled list for the third time this year. This time, Jeter has a strained right calf, and he will miss until at least mid-August. Some good news, though, comes via MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. According to the Yankees' beat writer, Jeter...

Not close to returning, New York Yankees star Derek Jeter should fully heal and then begin chasing Pete Rose

New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi acknowledged Monday that Derek Jeter isn’t near returning to the diamond. By trying to hastily recover in the spring, the 39-year-old Jeter created a second fracture in his left ankle. After finally healing from a growing list of injuries, the beloved male ***** strained his right calf and was again sent to the 15-day disabled list on August...

Derek Jeter mask may give you nightmares

An image of Derek Jeter was spotted in the stands at Yankee Stadium Monday night and like some ominous premonition from a J-Horror film —or the Captain's 2013 season —the ghostly face might have some Bronx Bomber fans leaving their night-lights on at bedtime. The nightmarish mask with the 3-D effect just mysteriously floats through the air. Check out the GIF below...

Jeter ramps up rehab, but weekend in doubt

Derek Jeter’s rehab program for a strained right calf muscle progressed yesterday to the point he used a bat to hit soft-toss and off a tee. Beyond that? “You got me” Jeter said when asked whether running will be added to the program. Jeter is not likely to be activated from the disabled list when he is first eligible on Sunday when the Yankees play a series finale against...

Girardi: Jeter not quite ready for return from DL

Listening to manager Joe Girardi talk about Derek Jeter’s program it doesn’t sound like the shortstop will bounce off the disabled list Sunday the first day he is eligible. Jeter is shelved with a strained right calf. “He will continue to increase his work here’’ Girardi said of Jeter who played catch during batting practice yesterday but wasn’t seen running or in the...

Yankees fan wore some kind of Demented Derek Jeter hologram mask

Sportress of Blogitude passes along this odd, 3-D Derek Jeter mask spotted last night at the Yankees game. Reportedly one wears it and, Halloween III style, it can't be removed while the rest of the body ages and decays rapidly. Almost as hypnotic as candy cotton eating guy. **Follow us on Twitter, View via Our Mobile Site, or Return to BobsBlitz.com.Follow us on Twitter....

Report: Yankees fine and reprimand Alex Rodriguez

The New York Yankees hand-delivered a letter written by Yankees general manager Brian Cashman to third baseman Alex Rodriguez before Friday night’s game against the Detroit Tigers, and plan to fine him more than $150,000 for missing a day of work without permission, reports Wallace Matthews of ESPNNewYork.com.

Alex Rodriguez hires top criminal lawyer Joe Tacopina

When the news of the Biogenesis suspensions came down there were no real surprises. A number of players were expected to be suspended for 50 games, Ryan Braun was expected to get a little more, and it was certainly not shocking that the league threw the figurative book at Alex Rodriguez. What is a little surprising

Former Yankee Shane Spencer Victim of Hoax As Imposter Implies Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera Used PEDs (Audio)

Note to radio producers: If you’re going to have a former Major League Baseball player on your program to talk about a sensitive topic such as performance-enhancing drugs, it might be a good idea to vet them, first. ESPN Radio 104.5 in Albany, N.Y., failed to do just that, and got burned in a pretty spectacular way Tuesday. Shane Spencer occupies a place in Yankees lore that far...

Three Blown Saves By Rivera No Cause For Concern

Yankee fans have done a lot of worrying this year. Certainly more than in recent years. We worry about Derek Jeter's ankle and his quad, Curtis Granderson and his broken wrist and pinkie, CC Sabathia and his reduced velocity and Mark Teixeira and his severely injured wrist. One thing, however, that we have not had to worry about in the slightest is Mariano Rivera. He has handled...
