Detroit Tigers suspended infielder Jhonny Peralta is likely to rejoin the team for its final regular-season series in Miami later this month.
The Tigers haven't made it official but manager Jim Leyland said he "assumes" Peralta will rejoin the team when he has completed serving his 50-game suspension.
Leyland was not willing to say whether Peralta 31 will be activated and added to a potential postseason roster.
Peralta was suspended as part of baseball's investigation into Biogenesis of America a Florida anti-aging clinic accused of distributing banned performance-enhancing drugs.
A free agent after this season Peralta is eligible to return on Sept. 27.
