Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports Major League Baseball is expected to hand down suspensions resulting from players’ involvement with the Biogenesis lab on Friday.  As many have reported, most – if not all – players will accept the punishment given without an appeal.  The exception appears to be Alex Rodriguez (have you heard of him?).  On Wednesday, we learned that Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz may appeal a possible suspension.  Players on the list, excluding ARod, are expected to get a 50+ game ban. There is no secret that Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta is included in this list.  The Tigers prepared themselves by dealing Avisail Garcia and Brayan Villarreal for Red Sox shortstop Jose Iglesias.  After the Tigers 11-1 win over the Nationals Wednesday, which could end up being Peralta’s last game this season should MLB levy its ban, Peralta finally broke the silence on his views of his potential suspension. “It’s wrong. But whatever happens, I need to fight and try to move on.” According to the Associated Press, Peralta insisted he did not not know whether Major League Baseball planned to suspend him.  This would be Peralta’s first ban under baseball’s drug program.  If the suspensions are handed down Friday, Peralta would lose $1,639,344 of his $6 million salary. Barring any rain-outs and rescheduled games, he would not be eligible to play until Sept. 24, leaving him with just five games of the regular season.  That is, of course, if MLB decides not to ban him for the rest of the season. Tigers manager Jim Leyland cut off a reporter who started to ask about the suspension.  ”I’m not going to talk about that at all.” Peralta declined to say whether he would seek an appeal for any suspension.  Through 106 games this season, is batting .307 with 10 homers, 53 RBIs.  [AP]
