So if you’re keeping score here’s how things from tonight’s memorable Yankees/Red Sox game went down: Ryan Dempster plunks A-Rod after a series of inside pitches and somehow it’s Yankees manager Joe Girardi who gets ejected.
Girardi was understandably angered and he sure got his money’s worth while in the ump’s face. The fired up Girardi could visibly be seen calling Dempster a ********** pussy”.
Girardi added after the game “I wish he had to hit”

Irony is never a stranger to Major League Baseball. Boston Red Sox starter Ryan Dempster was suspended five games for plunking controversial New York Yankees slugger, Alex Rodriguez, with a pitch. Major league pitchers start every five or six games, depending on team off days, so in reality Dempster won’t miss any starts. Dempster was not ejected after hitting Rodriguez in the...

The penalty was announced Tuesday by MLB senior vice president Joe Garagiola Jr., two days after Dempster hit A-Rod in the second inning at Fenway Park. Garagiola also fined Yankees manager Joe Girardi...

Ryan Dempster of course was mad about Rodriguez juicing and still being allowed to play while suspended...
Joe Girardi is still fuming about Ryan Dempster hitting Alex Rodriguez.
Dempster drilled Rodriguez in the second inning of Sunday’s game, which prompted home plate umpire Brian O’Nora to issue warnings to both sides. Girardi said after the game that he thought the situation was handled poorly. He wanted Dempster to be ejected, and he now wants the Red Sox pitcher to be suspended...
Yankees manager Joe Girardi say it will be ''open season'' on Alex Rodriguez if Major League Baseball fails to suspend Boston pitcher Ryan Dempster for hitting the New York star with a pitch.
Dempster threw one pitch behind A-Rod's knees and two more inside at Fenway Park on Sunday. Then his 3-0 pitch struck Rodriguez's left elbow pad and ricocheted off his...
The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees are this week’s ESPN Sunday Night Baseball game of the week and the rivalry truly is renewed. Ryan Dempster hits Alex Rodriguez with a fastball to the back and Fenway Park erupts into cheers.
For the first time since Rodriguez returned to the major leagues since his appeal of his lengthy suspension a opposing pitcher purposely throws...
Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Ryan Dempster has officially received a five-game suspension from Major League Baseball for intentionally throwing at and hitting New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez on Sunday night. Yankees manager Joe Girardi was also fined for his argument with umpire Brian O’Nora following the incident.
It was the right move for Major League Baseball...
I don’t care if this dude is a Red Sox fans. He deserves all the stupid comments thrown his way.
Anyways, last night Boston Red Sox pitcher Ryan Dempster tried to plunk Alex Rodriguez because… um… he was involved in Biogenesis? I don’t know. It really doesn’t make sense to me either. He didn’t show up a home-run – also stupid – or badmouth somebody on the Red Sox...
Ryan Dempster made it obvious that he was intentionally trying to hit Alex Rodriguez during Sunday’s Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees game, but did you realize that Dempster likely had this planned for a while? Ottawan Citizen sports writer Wayne Scanlan tweeted that Dempster told him he planned to “drill” A-Rod the first chance he […]
Alex Rodriguez has worn the villain’s hat long enough to know he is disliked throughout baseball. What he doesn’t want is people throwing at him because of their opinions of him filing an appeal of a suspension.
“Whether you like me or hate me that was wrong and unprofessional and silly and kind of a silly way to get somebody hurt on your team as well’’ Rodriguez said...

Joe Girardi thinks that Ryan Dempster should be suspended. John Farrell, as you might expect, feels differently.
Major League Baseball is currently in the process of determining whether or not Dempster should be disciplined for hitting Alex Rodriguez with a pitch in the second inning of Sunday’s Red Sox-Yankees game. Farrell reiterated his stance on the incident Monday, telling...
The Yankees Red Sox rivalry might have been not as heated as it was in the past, but last night proved that their games are always worth watching. The rubber match ended up going to the Yankees as they beat the Red Sox 9-6.
Fireworks exploded in the second inning when Boston’s Ryan Dempster was aiming for New York’s Alex Rodriguez almost every pitch. Everyone could see the message...
Ryan Dempster couldn’t make it out of the sixth inning last night against the Yankees.
Last night we saw Ryan Dempster only last 5 1/3 innings. That wasn’t the biggest story after him plunking Alex Rodriguez in the second inning but still it should be a story. The Red Sox bullpen is missing three arms they thought would be of great help this season with Joel Hanrahan, Andrew...
6:08 p.m.: Dustin Pedroia fouled a ball off his shin Saturday, and he was removed from the game before the bottom of the ninth inning. He’s ready to go Sunday, though.
Mike Napoli, meanwhile, be out of the Red Sox’ lineup again. He’s been dealing with a foot ailment, and his status remains day-to-day. Daniel Nava will play first base and bat seventh in Napoli’s absence.
