Baseball America recently released its list of the major league and minor league players with the best tools in baseball, and the Minnesota Twins were well represented.
Catcher Joe Mauer appeared three times on the major league list, which was voted upon by managers. The six-time All-Star and three-time batting champion was named the American League's third-best hitter behind Detroit's Miguel Cabrera and the Angels' Mike Trout. Mauer was voted second for best strike-zone judgment, again behind Cabrera. He also earned praise for his defense, as he was named the American League's third-best defensive catcher. Kansas City's Salvador Perez and Baltimore's Matt Wieters are ranked ahead of him.
Utility infielder Jamey Carroll also made the list, ranking as the American League's second-best hit-and-run artist behind the Angels' Erick Aybar.
Top prospects Miguel Sano and Byron Buxton made the minor league lists. Sano was voted as the best batting prospect ...

After Twins reliever Casey Fien induced an inning-ending groundout Saturday against Houston, he walked off the mound toward Minnesota's dugout. Before leaving the field, though, Fien pounded his glove with his fist -- twice -- and shouted "Let's go!" as the Target Field faithful cheered on.
This emotion is something not often seen from the Twins' bullpen, but...
If it was only this easy for the team. It’s been a bit of a rough year for the Minnesota Twins. They are 12 games under .500, and would do anything to put together a buncha W’s. These fans needed one last night, but whoever was supposed to show up last night and be that letter appears to be as dependable as Justin Morneau. He was apparently absent. So these geniuses decided to...

Andrew Albers was so close to capping off a memorable night with what would have been an even more memorable ending. He neared a milestone that only one pitcher in Twins history had ever done before: throw a complete game in his major league debut.
In the end, Albers fell just two outs shy of going the distance. Still, he stymied the Royals in his major league debut by throwing...
Twins’ third baseman Trevor Plouffe made the best play of the night last by going full Jeter over the railing. Plouffe tracks down a fly ball from Alex Gordon, snags it, flips over the railing, and then crashes in the first row.
Gotta love the grind in a guy who gives up the body in a blowout.

Let’s see how can we pinpoint exactly how spectacular Andrew Albers’ major-league debut was? There’s the number of runs allowed: 0 in 8⅓ innings the longest outing by a Twins pitcher this year. There’s the hits allowed: four all of them harmless singles. There’s the batters allowed to reach second base: only one on Albers’ last pitch of the night.
But Chris Herrmann...

The Kansas City Royals not only hosted the Minnesota Twins at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday evening, the team also welcomed four shirtless Twinkies-backers who found themselves short one additional dude needed in order to have “T-W-I-N-S” emblazoned upon their bare chests while enjoying some Coors Light tallboys.
