Radio announcer John Sterling pointedly, and almost unbelievably, criticized the New York Yankee starting pitching Sunday. He stated flatly that the starting pitching, especially Hughes (2-2, 5.35 ERA), Roger Clemens (5-5, 4.34) and Mike Mussina (8-9, 5.22) , was not consistent enough to pitch the Yankees to the playoffs.
