Have you ever been served free hot chocolate on the street by a member of the Boston Red Sox? No? Well, if you happened to be traversing the (very cold) streets of Boston on Wednesday, there was a distinct possibility this was a situation you might encounter. Four members of the Sox — newcomers Jonny Gomes and David Ross in addition to Ryan Kalish and Daniel Nava — took a tour of the city, braving some chilly temperatures to take in some historical sights, as well as sign a few autographs and pass out some warm drinks to fans. Check it all out in the video above.

Lately we've joked (I say “we” but what I mean is “I”) about
Mike Napoli’s health issues. If you found it in poor taste or perhaps lacking
the proper amount of humor then you probably have the personality of a whiffle-ball
bat. Nonetheless today we found out exactly why Napoli failed his physical which
led the Red Sox to restructure his 3-year deal. The reason is...
Pedro Martinez has returned to the Boston Red Sox.
On Thursday, Martinez, a three-time Cy Young Award winner and eight-time All-Star, who spent seven seasons in Boston, was brought back to the franchise. He will serve as a special assistant to general manager Ben Cherington.
Martinez became a Red Sox starting pitcher in 1998 and was a key cog in the 2004 team that brought a World...
I'm a man of my word and as promised here's a quick preview of the 2013 Red Sox starting rotation. Keep in mind this isn't an in depth Jeremy Schaap-esque report (that guy can pull a story), but rather a glancing look at what was, what is and what might be in store for the Red Sox starting rotation.
Enjoy Red Sox Nation, enjoy.

Boston is freezing and Opening Day is still more than two months away, but Fenway Park already has a baseball feel to it.
That’s because the Red Sox will be hosting the Winterfest Video Game Tournament at the ballpark on Saturday, Jan. 26. The event, which will transform the Fenway Park suites into an arcade, will take place 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The bracket-style tournament will feature...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
News that John Farrell is excited about Daniel Bard after watching the righthander throw in Mississippi over the weekend could indicate that there will be a lot of depth in the Red Sox bullpen.
While the Red Sox are looking to bounce back after a 2012 season filled with turmoil, several players are also looking to get back to form this year.
John Lackey added to the Red Sox’ pitching woes last season without throwing a single pitch. Lackey, in his third season in Boston, missed all of 2012 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Many players have pitched well following...
The Boston Red Sox General Manager Ben Cherington announced this morning that former Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez has been signed as a special assistant to the General Manager. Martinez is the second ex-Red Sox player to be signed onto staff with this role, joining Jason Varitek.
Cherington was quoted saying "We are very excited to have Pedro onboard with us and back in the...
It’s now going on nine years since the Red Sox broke the Curse of the Bambino and captured the franchise’s first World Series title in 86 years.
While David Ortiz remains the last Red Sox from the 2004 team, on Thursday it was announced the Pedro Martinez would be returning to Boston as a special assistant.
With Jason Varitek also joining the front office last season, it begs...
Former Boston manager Terry Francona gave Pedro Martinez a big hug along with some advice to help him in his new job as a special assistant to the Red Sox general manager.
''Now he's going to have to be on time,'' Francona needled his former pitcher on Thursday when the two were reunited at the annual dinner of the Boston chapter of the Baseball Writers Association...
With Spring Training less than a month away, the Red Sox 40 Man
Roster should be fairly set until the end of camp. I'll take this
opportunity to review the entire roster. Lets face it, there's not much
else going on.
The 2012 Red Sox fell so far, so fast it is difficult to remember that at the July 31 Trade Deadline that the Red Sox were still on the periphery of contention...
Today the Red Sox announced that Pedro “Peety” Martinez
would be rejoining the Red Sox organization as a special assistant to the
general manager. I don’t know what a “special assistant to the general manager”
does exactly, but I’m stoked to have him back in Beantown. I won’t speak on
behalf of the entire Red Sox Nation (although I could and most of the time
The Red Sox and Pirates seem to be good trading partners this off-season. A big deal at the end of December brought Joel Hanrahan already to Boston.
If the two sides keep the communications open there might be another deal to be made.
The Pirates are the ones to start the latest rumor that Garrett Jones...
Turns out, Bo knows all about Mike Napoli's hip problem. A physical exam administered by the Boston Red Sox in December showed that Napoli is afflicted by "avascular necrosis," the slugger revealed Jan. 22 after finalizing a greatly reduced contract to be the team's primary first baseman. The medical condition, which can lead to bone death and degeneration, exists...
With pitchers and catchers reporting to Fort Myers, Florida for spring training February 10th, the Boston Red Sox are primed to put their past three dismal seasons behind them and get back to American League East royalty. Though the Sox recent seasonal campaigns have left a bad taste in the mouth of Red Sox Nation, fans must be patient and realize the MLB season varies spontaneously...
