Fuse Science has yet another endorser. With Major League Baseball's 83rd All-Star Game looming this evening, the consumer products company has signed home-run hitting, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista to a sponsorship deal. "Jose understands what it means to be Powered by Fuse as he has led the majors the past two years in home runs and is tied for the lead at the All-Star break," stated Rubin Hanan, President and COO of Fuse Science. "Jose is also one of the iconic athletes in Canada today playing for the Toronto Blue Jays, and although not from Canada originally, the country has adopted him as one of their own. We will utilize Jose in our Canadian launch strategy for all of our products." Fuse Science is best known for its EnerJel product -- a transdermal product used to fight muscle fatigue and increase energy. The company is hoping that Bautista can open up the product to the Canadian marketplace, a marketplace which has embraced Bautista bo...

Fielder's 476-foot HR lands in fountain

Check out the video. The Detroit Tigers’ Prince Fielder knocked a 476-footer right into the fountain during the Home Run Derby. It was his longest homer of the night. It was just one of Fielder’s 28 homers as he went on to beat Toronto’s Jose Bautista in the Home Run Derby finals.

Toronto Blue Jays review: first half of the season

Now that the All-Star break has come upon us, I thought it’s time to review the Toronto Blue Jay’s performance in the first half of the 2012 season. In this article, I will breakdown the pluses and minuses about the first half of the Blue Jay’s season. Plus J.P. Arencibia: 248 at bats, 31 runs scored, 56 hits, 11 doubles, 13 home runs, and 41 RBIs.  Arencibia was also named...

Prince Fielder defeats Jose Bautista for Home Run Derby Crown

Detroit Tigers' Prince Fielder fended off Toronto's Jose Bautista to win the 2012 MLB Home Run Derby at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City Monday Night. Fielder started the night slow with just five home runs in the opening round but began to find a rhythm in Round 2 with 11 homers. Four of the 16 went over 458 feet, with the longest one going 475. Fielder now joins Ken Griffey...

Injuries make pitching a priority need for Blue Jays

The obvious need for the Toronto Blue Jays going into the second phase of the season is pitching. The Blue Jays lost three starters long-term to injuries in June. Kyle Drabek is out after Tommy John surgery. Drew Hutchison did not require surgery for his elbow injury but will be out until later in the season. Brandon Morrow is the most advanced in his rehabilitation for his strained...

Omar Vizquel Blasts Airline on Twitter

People complain about airlines all the time.  Matter of fact, it's hard to go to a comedy club and not hear some hackneyed bit about flying. But for a Major Leaguer to complain about the service...and for that Major Leaguer to be Omar Vizquel?  Something must've really happened to the mild mannered infielder for him to Hulk out on Twitter Sunday night. That, or he learned...

Quality vs. Quantity: The Blue Jays’ Draft Strategy

Ever since the new collective bargaining agreement was announced in November 2011, people speculated as to how the newly-formulated signing bonus budgets for the MLB Draft would affect draft strategy. Signability became extremely important. Teams could not afford to fail to sign a pick because it caused them to forfeit their pick and the bonus money allotted for that pick, ultimately...

Creeper of the Week: Adam Lind

With the All-Star break upon us, we’re now left with four days of complete and utter boredom. What are we going to do without checking on our teams every thirty seconds, aside from resist the urge to become a Chronic Mastertrader? No, really, I don’t have any advice for you. In fact, I’m asking you. Also, with the All-Star break comes a strange schedule; some leagues will feature...

Home Run Derby Live Blog: Jose Bautista, Prince Fielder Lead Powerful Derby Field

8:45 a.m. ET: "It's going, going, going, it's...." Chances are you'll be hearing that phrase a lot Monday night, as Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium provides the setting for the 2012 edition of the Home Run Derby. Begun in 1985, when Dave Parker hit six home runs representing the Cincinnatti Reds at the Metrodome in a single round, the competition has become...

Omar Vizquel Reminds Us Why The All Star Game Is Not Watchable

I’ve been getting this feeling that most MLB players are assholes of late. Here is Omar Vizquel doing his best impression of one over the weekend: American is the worst ******* airline in the whole world — Omar Vizquel (@VizquelOmar13) July 9, 2012 No ****. Next time I will RT @meganrad: @VizquelOmar13 Take a greyhound bus. — Omar Vizquel (@VizquelOmar13) July 9, 2012 Omar...

The Chicago White Sox Finish First Half With A Three Game Lead In A.L. Central Will It Hold?

The Chicago White Sox turned a lot of heads in the first half. The team people thought couldn’t contend has a three game lead in the A.L. Central Division and they could have made it four if they didn’t lose to the Toronto Blue Jays 11-9 in their last game before the All-Star Break. The White Sox were down in the game by 4 runs until the fifth inning when the White Sox turned...

Jose Bautista quotes Ricky Bobby after losing to Prince Fielder in Home Run Derby

Prince Fielder put on a show for fans of the Home Run Derby — if there are any left — on Tuesday night as he won the event for the second time and hit some absolute bombs in the process. Fielder hit the four longest homers of the night, two of which traveled an estimated 476 feet. In the final round, Fielder defeated Jose Bautista by a score of 12-7. Bautista was considered by...

David Ortiz Dishes Out Advice to Jose Bautista, Mark Trumbo While Wearing Camera During Home Run Derby (Video)

David Ortiz knows how to have a good time at the All-Star Game, and he's no slouch at the Home Run Derby, either. Big Papi wore a Looxcie camera during Monday's festivities for WEEI.com and the footage offers a first-person look at Jose Bautista putting on a show. It's no Being John Malkovich, but it's still pretty cool to see what Papi is seeing as he makes his way...
