With the Red Sox set to meet the Dodgers this weekend, almost exactly after last year’s franchise-shaking trade, all the major players in the deal have been asked to reflect upon their time in Boston. Josh Beckett did so in an interview with WEEI.com’s Rob Bradford earlier this week, and his depiction of the atmosphere surrounding the Red Sox clubhouse was not a favorable one. “It just got way too personal for me,” Beckett said. “It wasn’t just like, ‘Hey, you suck on the baseball field.’ It was now, ‘Hey, you’re a bad person.’ It was getting personal. It wasn’t even about baseball anymore. It was definitely time to make a change. I think everybody from the front office to the players recognized that, we’ve moved on and now here I am. “I think it almost ended up being like a pity party in the clubhouse. Nobody wants to hear [expletive] like that. Nobody wants to hear the personal stuff. Everybody in the clubhouse can deal with, if someone has a bad game, then you can deal with that

Sox need to cure offensive woes

Red Sox pitcher John Lackey always looks like he just smelled something bad. Now, I don't mean to pick on the guy. The big righthander this season has been one of Boston's most reliable starting pitchers. The vast majority of his starts have resulted in the opposition putting up little or no offense. But where opponents have scored few runs in Lackey's starts, the...

Vin Scully, one of baseball's most beloved broadcasters, will return to the Los Angeles Dodgers for a record 65th season in 2014. Doubront stablizes the ship

Eric D. Schabell Contributing Writer It has been a bit up and down with the Red Sox starting pitching. Some days it has been amazing and results in wins, other days it has blown up in their faces. Felix Doubront can attest to being on both sides of that coin. His 24 starts this season have been on average around 5-6 innings per start with a few spikes in there in both directions...

Report: Red Sox, Marlins Discussed Carl Crawford-for-Hanley Ramirez Swap During 2012 Season

Carl Crawford and Hanley Ramirez now share a clubhouse in Los Angeles. But there reportedly was a point last season when they almost traded places on the East Coast.
