The Miami Marlins’ streak of series without a loss improved to seven with Sundays 5-3 win over the Cleveland Indians.  In the last seven series, the Marlins have won five, tied two and walked none encompassing all of May thus far.   Miami owns the best record in Major League Baseball on the month at 14-5 as they head home for their longest homestand of the year thus far. For a third consecutive start, Josh Johnson looked more like the ace of the past than the pitcher who began 2012 in subpar fashion.   Johnson picked up the win by going seven innings in which he allowed one run on five hits.    While the strikeout numbers were low at four, the right-hander was in control only walking two.   Randy Choate was asked to work one and a third innings, an usually high workload for the lefty specialist.   Choate stayed in long due to a lefty heavy Indians lineup but was lifted in the ninth after the first two hitters reached.   Heath Bell entered with the tying run on deck and allowed a dou...

Indians Shut Fish Out

The Miami Marlins dropped Saturday’s game to the Cleveland Indians by a final score of 2-0 to even the interleague series up.    Miami only managed three hits while being shut out and it felt like a lot more than a two run deficit due to the sluggish offense.    With the loss, the Marlins have slipped back to only two games over .500 and remain in a tie for third place in...

Of course the Indians will be looking to sweep as well over Tigers as that would put them up 6 games late in May. After the Detroit series the Indians will...
