The Philadelphia Phillies view free agent outfielder Josh Hamilton as a “fallback option” in the case they aren’t able to sign center fielders B.J. Upton and Michael Bourn, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. The Phillies are believed to have superstar outfielder Josh Hamilton as a fallback option in case B.J. Upton and Michael Bourn can't be signed. So Hamilton is at least on their radar. The Phillies have been tied to outfielders all offseason given their need for at least one, and probably two, acquisitions. Beyond center fielders such as Upton and Bourn, the team has also been tied to corner outfielders such as free agents Cody Ross and Nick Swisher as well as Michael Cuddyer of the Colorado Rockies. Hamilton has played both center and corner outfield positions during his time with the Texas Rangers. Given their need, Phillies president and CEO Dave Montgomery said he doesn’t think “there’s a whole lot we’re not considering.” Follow @mlbinjurynews !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.mlbinjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? MLB Opinion: Chone Figgins Not an Option for Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies are open to almost any option that would fill the gaping hole that they have at third base.
