Josh Reddick, right fielder for the Oakland Athletics and former Boston Red Sox prospect, has fallen victim to the allure of social media. Like many before him and likely many after him he has tweeted something that he possibly could have/should have thought out a little more first. Ortiz set to return after 8 months

David Ortiz is set to make his return for the Boston Red Sox following an eight-month layoff. Ortiz injured his right Achilles tendon running the bases on July 17 and appeared just once in...

Recap: Boston, Red Sox win

(AP Photo/Michael Dwyer) I started writing some nonsense about how the Sox 4-3 victory over the Royals this afternoon was symbolic of the city of Boston in the wake of the Marathon tragedy.  'Never give up' and all that.  But America's pastime is meant to be a reprieve from all of that.  As a wrote this morning, this game was a great way to clear our minds of this...

Starting Pitching Remains Key to Red Sox’ Continuing Success After Hot Start to Season (Video)

What’s the key to having a good season in the major leagues? Pitching, pitching and more pitching. The Red Sox are off to their best start in years, and when compared to last year’s squad, the 2013 Sox are light years ahead of where they were in the standings. As far as the offense is concerned, however, they’re surprisingly close. It’s the starting pitching that’s been...
