Found April 09, 2013 on Minus Twenty-Two:
A’s outfielder Josh Reddick said he won’t play in Tuesday’s series opener against the Angels in Anaheim due to a sprained wrist suffered Sunday against the Astros. The bearded one injured the wrist on a scary crash with a wall in foul territory in Houston that looked far worse than X-rays later revealed it to be. Reddick confirmed being out of Tuesday’s lineup to 95.7 The Game. He said the injury has shown improvement over the past two days and that a stint on the DL shouldn’t be necessary. He hopes to be back in the lineup on Wednesday. [via CSNBA]

Athletics Injury News: X-Rays negative for Josh Reddick, Brett Anderson

The Oakland Athletics got a double dose of good news yesterday after what looked to be a double dose of bad news.  Both Josh Reddick and Brett Anderson had to leave yesterday's game with injuries.  Reddick slammed into the wall while going after a foul ball.  Anderson was hit in the thumb by a comebacker up the middle.  Reddick's injury looked most frightening, but...

A's Reddick injured against Houston

Oakland right fielder Josh Reddick has been injured after colliding into a wall trying to chase down a foul ball against the Astros. Reddick appeared to injure his right wrist when he fell chasing down a foul ball hit by Marwin Gonzalez in the fifth inning. He remained on the ground and was looked at by trainers for a couple of minutes before getting up and walking to the dugout...

Scott Sizemore to undergo MRI today

The Oakland A's had a two man bench last night courtesy of injuries to Josh Reddick and Scott Sizemore.  Sizemore has been out since last Wednesday when he hurt his knee chasing a pop up.  The injury was thought to be minor, but it is not clearing up.  He will go for an MRI today tweeted Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle last night. Sizemore is going to get...

Scott Sizemore to miss remainder of year after re-tearing ACL

The Oakland Athletics will be without infielder Scott Sizemore for the rest of the season. Sizemore tore his ACL  in Tuesday game against the Angels. Sizemore missed all of 2012 with the same injury. Sizemore went 1-for-6 with a double in two games before the injury. Melvin texted Sizemore and was visibly shaken when relaying news to reporters. “Just awful … It’s devastating...

A’s Scott Sizemore has another torn ACL, out for season

When A’s second baseman Scott Sizemore went out of Tueday’s game with the Angels with an apparently left leg injury, there was some worry about that being the same leg on which he had ACL surgery last year. But few, including Sizemore, were probably prepared for the devastating official diagnosis that came in on Wednesday. He suffered another torn ACL, the same injury in the...

A’s look strong after first week

Coco has every right to lean like Bernie. The first week of the Athletics 2013 campaign has seen the team realize the potential fans hoped for. New additions Jed Lowrie and Chris Young, who were to be considered mid-level offseason acquisitions in the MLB, have shown they were undervalued on the trade market. Young has displayed power in the early going. He has hit two homeruns with...

A's streaking, Angels stinking

Brandon Moss tied a career high with five RBIs, including his second homer in two games, and the Oakland Athletics extended their winning streak to seven games with an 11-5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night.

Athletics 9, Angels 5

Pinch-hitter John Jaso had a go-ahead, three-run homer in the seventh inning, and the Oakland Athletics blew a four-run lead before rallying to beat the Los Angeles Angels 9-5 Tuesday night in the majors' final home opener. Brandon Moss had three hits and drove in four runs, delivering an early two-run single before adding a two-run homer after Jaso's shot. Coco Crisp also...
