Relief pitcher Julian Tavarez signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on Friday and reported to camp Sunday. When asked why he chose the Nationals, he gave this amazing, hilarious, truthful response: "Why did I sign with the Nationals? When you go to a club at four in the morning, and you're just waiting, waiting, a 600-pounder looks like J. Lo. And to me this is Jennifer Lopez right here. It's four in the morning. Too much to drink. So, Nationals: Jennifer Lopez to me."That's got to be up there with the all-time great quotes in sports, but I'm wondering how the Nationals feel about it.   • I don't really think the Nationals will generally like the comment, but then with the brand of baseball they play, who cares.
    As far as why JT signed....can you say paycheck?
    With the staff the Red Sox are putting together, his limited use in the past, would this year be that of helping the dude open the gate on the bullpen to let other pitchers into the game, and making funny handshakes with Big Papi!
