June 28th Blue Jays Minor Leagues Recap: Masson powers Dunedin to victory

Vancouver- The C’s tied the game 1-1 in the 9th, Kekai Rios singled Alex De Jesus. The Indians scored two runs in the 10th off Justin Kelly. Vancouver bounced back in the bottom of the 10th with 3 runs for the win. Alan Roden walked, bringing home Rios. Dasan Brown tied the game 3-3 on a sac fly that scored Devonte Brown. Alex De Jesus doubled home Lyle Lin for the win. Kevin Miranda walked a batter with no strikeouts over 5 scoreless innings. Abdiel Mendoza allowed one run on 3 hits over 2 innings. Ryan Boyer pitched two scoreless. Justin Kelly allowed two runs on two hits in the 10th.

Dunedin- The Mets scored 5 runs off Alex Amalfi in the 2nd inning. Felipe Bello (2.1IP), Joey Murray (1.0IP), Brody Rodning (1.0IP), Anders Tolhurst (2.0IP), and Harry Rutkowski (1.0IP) held the Mets scoreless on 4 hits over the final 7.1IP. Dunedin scored single runs in the 4th, 5th, and 9th innings. They scored two runs in the 7th. Roque Salinas tied the game in the 8th with an RBI single. J.C. Masson hit his first home run, a 3-run shot to right CF, giving the D-Jays a 8 to 5 lead.

Today we turn our attention to Dunedin’s bullpen.

23-year-old Felipe Bello entered the game with two runs on, allowing one inherited runner to score. He threw 28 pitches for strikes, throwing a total of 42 pitches. He threw 17 FB and 15 sliders.
