Justin Verlander put in a performance for the ages on Tuesday night. Dominant does not even begin to describe it. Verlander absolutely owns in the Oakland A’s. Over the past two years when the Tigers faced the A’s in the ALDS, Verlander has made 4 starts. Here are the lines from those starts. October 6, 2012: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 11 K October 11, 2012: 9.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 11 K October 5, 2013: 7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 11 K October 10, 2013: 8.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 10 K The last three starts have been at O.Co Coliseum where Verlander has been dominant. The Oakland A’s Wikipedia page even was jokingly changed to say that Justin Verlander owns the Oakland A’s. The raucous fans at the Coliseum tried to get into Verlander’s head by bringing cutouts of Verlander’s ex-girlfriend and Sports’ Illustrated Swimsuit model Kate Upton, but that was unsuccessful to say the least. If Verlander even noticed the cutouts, it would only have helped fuel his fire. With his lackluster performance this year and the emergence of Max Scherzer, people said that Verlander was not the ace of this staff. Verlander is the ace of this staff. When he is right, Justin Verlander is the best pitcher on this team. He is the best pitcher in the American League. Clayton Kershaw is the only pitcher  in Justin Verlander’s league and the Oakland A’s learned this the hard way. The post Justin Verlander Owns the Oakland A’s appeared first on The Farm Club.

Verlander and Cabrera cuss on TV after beating Oakland A’s

Detroit Tigers’ Justin Verlander and Miguel Cabrera were understandably pumped after beating the Oakland A’s in game 5 of the ALDS.  Both of them dropped a few “f*ck yeah’s” on live TV afterwards, but who could blame them?  It was an epic come back from the brink of defeat.

Red Sox vs. Tigers/Athletics Who do we want to play?

Ryan MacLeod Contributing Writer One of the best things about the Red Sox finishing off the Tampa Bay Rays in 4 games is the fact that the team now gets to sit back and watch the Oakland Athletics and Detroit Tigers battle it out in a do or die game 5 tonight in Oakland. With their ticket already punched to the ALCS there is 2 questions that remain, who will they be playing and...

A’s ALDS debrief

decided to wait a day later to rehash the dumpster fire that was the ALDS between the A’s and Tigers. If I wrote anything last night there would have been a lot of swearing (more than usual), and irrational and childish gobbledygook that I would have later regretted, like calling Justin Verlander a creepy 5 o’clock shadow-having butthead (I would have meant that with all due...
