Boston's bullpen could use a break. Justin Masterson and the rest of the bullpen brass gave up five runs after Brad Penny went five innings allowing six hits, three runs, one walk and one strikeout. Kansas City answered with four runs in the sixth inning after Dustin Pedroia hit a solo homer (4) in the fifth giving Boston a 5-3 advantage. David Ortiz also homered in the loss, a two-run shot, in the first inning. Goat of the Game - Bullpen We are supposed to have the best bullpen in the league. Starting to wonder if they are somewhat burnt out. Next Game - 7/10 vs. Kansas City Royals - Brian Bannister/Jon Lester Boston could use a long outing from Lester tonight.
