Three baseball fans are sitting in a sports bar talking baseball. One proclaims, "Cano and Pedroia are the two best second basemen in baseball." The second fan lets out a whoop and raises a beverage. The third, who is sitting with head down on folded arms pondering fantasy baseball picks, adds, "and Kinsler." The first two look at the third like seeing an alien. The first raises a bottle and says, "To Cano and Pedroia!" The second clinks bottles with the first and says, "Yeeeah!" The third raises a head and says more firmly, "And Kinsler!" Ian Kinsler should always be in the same breath as Cano and Pedroia. He simply is not. Despite the Texas Rangers playing in the past two World Series, Kinsler is considered the third or fourth best player on his own team. Cano is considered the best player on his team. And Pedroia is the little engine that could. According to Tim McCarver, Pedroia is the "soul of the Boston Red Sox." But...

Darvish, fans figuring each other out
The most memorable scene of "Lost in the Translation," even more so than the whisper at the end, at least to me, was the Suntory whisky commercial shoot.
The director talks at length, in Japanese, of how he wants Bill Murray's character to lovingly turn to the whisky bottle and look at it like an old friend. And the interpreter needs to convey this. Translation is...
Feliz looks fine in first start
I admit — I was more than a little nervous about Neftali Feliz’ move to the rotation. I’m not completely cured of those nerves yet (it’s a long season), but tonight was a step in the right direction.
Feliz threw 108 pitches in seven scoreless innings. He allowed just two walks and four hits, but struck out four. His change-up was working really nicely for him tonight...

If you won the Masters in Augusta, Georgia on a Sunday, what would you do immediately do the next night?
Based on the picture below, which I just found here at GordonKeith.com, it looks like what Bubba Watson would do is fly to Arlington to catch the stateside debut of Yu Darvish.
Okay, so that’s not the real Bubba Watson (duh), but you have to give the guy props for timing and...

Tonight at 7:05 P.M. CT, we’ll find about the 6-foot-5, 25-year old Texas Rangers’ Iranian-Japanese righthander as he makes his big league debut against the Mariners.
