By some magical twist of fate from the baseball headline writing gods, Kansas City Royals second baseman Chris Getz reached first base on an error in the third inning of his team’s 5-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox Wednesday. The amazing blessing resulted in the greatest photo of all time. For one beautiful moment, Getz, White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko, and Royals first base coach Rusty Kuntz, were lined up in perfect order to spell out “Konerko Getz Kuntz.”
Take it in, folks, because like a lunar eclipse, a miracle such as this one will not align again for many more years.

Alex Gordon nearly had the catch of the year after climbing the wall in an attempt to rob Dayan Viciedo of a home run Wednesday.
Viciedo was up with a runner on first, two outs, and his Chicago White Sox up 2-1 in the fourth when he belted a tailing fastball to left. Gordon was already playing deep and decided to climb the wall. He hopped on...
by John Viril—When I read that the Texas Rangers committed $131 million over the next 10 years to 24-year-old SS Elvis Andrus, I could not help compare this deal to the current contract the Royals have with their own Alcides Escobar.

CHICAGO (AP) Adam Dunn homered and the Chicago White Sox went deep four times to back a solid start by Jake Peavy in a 5-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.
Tyler Flowers, Dayan Viciedo and Alexi Ramirez also connected, and the White Sox made it two straight wins to start the season after dropping 12 of 18 to Kansas City a year ago.

Our Palehose were unable to complete a series sweep this afternoon, falling to the Royals 3-1 in a game where all of both team’s runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning.
While the White Sox were able to defeat KC the first two games, this one looked all too familiar to the ones against the Royals last season, starting with the man on the mound ...
It’s only two games. It’s early in the season. It’s Chicago cold and damp compared to the hot, dry air of Arizona. Yes, there’s reasons to not worry about the Royals 0-2 start. But It’s the way they’ve lost those two games which cause concern, even this early in the season.
Opening Day in Chicago. James Shields pitched well, striking out six and giving up eight hits...
Game 1: Mariners vs. White Sox
Seattle split a four-game series at Oakland to start the season, but carry baseballs hottest power hitter into the opener of a weekend set at Chicago. The White Sox dominated the season series last year, beating Seattle eight of nine times and outscoring the Mariners 55-38.
