LA DFA’s Recently-Added Reliever After Just One Appearance

The Dodgers roster continues to get shaken up as another player has been cut from the team to make room for a fellow pitcher. 

On Wednesday, the Dodgers designated Tyson Miller for assignment. Miller was acquired by the Dodgers on August 27th via waivers. 

The move to designate Miller for assignment correlated with the move to bring Ryan Pepiot back onto the active roster. Pepiot started Wednesday night's win against the Diamondbacks, throwing five shutout innings in the process.

Miller's second stint with the Dodgers only lasted three days. In that time Miller was able to get one appearance in at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday night.

He also made an appearance with the team earlier this season, before being DFA'd and added by the Mets.

In total, Miller threw four innings for LA, giving up two runs for a 4.50 ERA. He was able to miss some bats as he racked up three strikeouts, but hitters were still able to manage four hits off of him. 

Being designated for assignment is nothing new for Miller. This is the sixth time since 2021 that Miller is designated for assignment and the second time by the Dodgers. 

In 10 appearances with the Dodgers, Mets and Brewers this season, Miller has a 4.70 ERA in 15.1 innings pitched. 

His largest bulk of playing time came with the Brewers at the beginning of the season where he was able to pitch in seven games. 

Now Miller will be looking to play of this fourth team this year.
