Lance Berkman may play in 2013. The 36-year-old met with Jim Crane last week and according to the new owner of the Houston Astros has “expressed some interest in maybe working a deal out.” Berkman is still rehabbing from knee surgery so lets not place the cart before the horse here. Further, if a contending team was interested in Berkman they could lure him with the possibility of another World Series ring. “We haven’t gotten to that (discuss contract). I think his knee is still up in the air. So we got to get that all worked out. It was a get-acquainted meeting, really”  Crane said. “I think he has an interest.” “All of that will depend on his knee and probably the price, if he get any other offers or what. If all that works out, and there are a lot of ifs there, possibly he could do some DHing (designated hitter) for us.” Berkman spent parts of 12 seasons with the Astors. Last season he appeared in 32 games with the St. Louis Cardinals before injuring his knee. The Astros move ...

The St. Louis Cardinals will be donning new-look uniforms for the 2013 season. The biggest difference will be that the front lettering will read "St. Louis" instead of the traditional "Cardinals". Wiber: St. Louis Cardinals fans have plenty to feel thankful about

With it being the time of year to be thankful for things, St. Louis Cardinals fans should be thankful for their current ownership group.  When you have an owner and President down in Miami, who just spit in the fans faces a couple of nights ago by trading pretty much all of their top players and their best beer vendor, Cardinals fans should simply rejoice at how lucky they truly...

St. Louis Cardinals announce new alternate jersey

The St. Louis Cardinals have one of the classiest, most traditional uniforms in all of Major League Baseball. The "Birds on the Bat" is nearly as recognizable as the pinstripes on the the New York Yankees uniform. The new Cardinals jersey will be worn for Saturday home games and is a tribute to the team's 1932 jersey. It features "St Louis" on the front of the jersey for the first time in over 80 years. Pretty slick, but it reminds me of the retro look that...

Reports From Instructs: Houston Astros (Pt 2)

Carlos Correa was the recent first overall pick and while I didn’t see him as an amateur, he showed big time tools in the GCL and again in instructs. His projectable 6’4, 190 pound frame immediately stands out with broad shoulders, tapered torso and long limbs. Correa is an outstanding athlete to coordinate his body to play shortstop, which he does well now with a plus arm, solid...
