Former New York Yankees pitcher Don Larsen reportedly is auctioning his uniform from the perfect game he threw in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series. Larsen, 82, told the New York Times he selling the jersey and pants he wore during that Oct. 8, 1956, game to help pay for his grandsons' college education. "What the uniform actually sells for is not that important to me; whatever happens, happens," Larsen told the Times on Friday from his Hayden Lake, Idaho home. "I'm just hoping for enough to help the grandkids." Larsen remains the only pitcher to throw a perfect game in the World Series. The Yankees won that series in seven games over the Brooklyn Dodgers. He had an 81-91 record with seven teams over 14 seasons. The opening bid for the uniform is scheduled for $565,000.
