For those who advocated blowing the 2012 Red Sox up, welcome to the final 35 games of your season. The Royals went ahead with an RBI single by Tony Abreu in the top of the 12th inning as they beat the Red Sox 10-9 at Fenway Park.Pitching on just 3 days rest, and in place of Josh Beckett who had been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in perhaps THE biggest trade in the history of Major League Baseball, Aaron Cook struggled early allowing 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning. He settled down after that, allowing just those 3 runs over 6 innings on 7 hits and 1 walk.The Boston offense jumped into action, generating a 9-3 lead powered in part by home runs Mauro Gomez (pictured) and Mike Aviles. For Gomez it was his 1st career home run and part of a 4-hit game.The Royals scored 6 runs in the top of the 7th helped in part by some sloppy fielding on the part of Cody Ross in right field.Eight Red Sox were in double figures in hits including Scott Podesdnik, Jacoby Ellsbury, Ryan Lavarnway...
