Lil’ Wayne is a documented sports fan and his love for the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Franchises has been highlighted on some of his songs (Green and Yellow) and during his many trips to ESPN’s campus.  Tonight I learned that Weezy is a San Francisco Giants fan, and while it’s not the best rendition of “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” I’ve ever heard, he surprised me and I’d have to give him a B.

One Win Away From The World Series

The Giants have forced a Game Seven, thanks to phenomenal starts from Barry Zito and Ryan Vogelsong. Zito, up against one of the best offenses the National League has seen in recent years, a lineup that’s been especially tough on left-handed pitching, more than held his own. For nearly eight innings, with everything on the line, he silenced the Cardinals on their own territory...

Hitting is real culprit behind Cardinals' demise

In the big picture, the St. Louis Cardinals blew a 3-1 lead in the National League Championship Series because they didn't hit well enough, pitch well enough or field well enough. Defense aside -- and you can't ignore the fact that the Cardinals offered up an LCS-record 10 unearned runs -- the Cardinals hit next to nothing in the last three games of the series. in which...

Giants' Marco Scutaro wins NLCS MVP

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Marco Scutaro looked up through the pouring rain, caught Matt Holliday's popup for the final out and punched his ticket to the World Series for the first time at age 36. In an NL championship series that saw Scutaro absorb a hard and admitted late slide from Holliday that strained the second baseman's left hip, what a fitting ending. Scutaro tied the...

Game Picks - Sunday: October 21, 2012

Things were going swimmingly for the St. Louis Cardinals. They held a commanding lead in the NLCS at three games to one and just had to beat Barry Zito for their second straight trip to the World Series. But then serendipity showed up and a hashtag was born and somehow, a three games to two lead does not seem as solid as the series heads back to San Francisco. Can the Giants hold...

After Hip Injury, Marco Scutaro Earns NLCS MVP

At this point the slide may be forgotten.  In Game Two of the National League Championship Series, Matt Holliday of the St. Louis Cardinals slid hard into the San Francisco Giants' Marco Scutaro.  The slide caused Scutaro's body to bend at an awkward angle and looked as if it may have hurt his right leg.  It turned out, Scutaro had injured his hip.  He had tried to...

Still crazy to envision Kyle Lohse getting a 4 year deal

A huge performance in an NLCS game seven is something agent Scott Boras is hoping for. Boras prides himself in getting players a lot more money than they deserve.
