Closer Brian Wilson made his first spring appearance after missing the first few weeks with a stiff back. Wilson pitched a perfect, 1-2-3 fifth inning and struck out two batters, both on nasty back door sliders.

Ryan Langerhans accounted for the Mariners only run with an RBI double. Nate Robertson got the starting nod, but was roughed up for four runs on four hits in three innings in suffering the loss.
