My fantasy perspective: Fantasy baseball managers may have seen Darvish as a bit of a wildcard going into their drafts but he’s easily proving to be worth the perceived risk, so far. With a Yahoo! ADP of 83.2, he was grouped in with such pitchers as Ian Kennedy (79.0), James Shields (81.6), C.J. Wilson (82.2) and Madison Bumgarner (85.0).
His numbers up until now are a mix of some good and some not so great. His 3-0 record in four starts is good news for fantasy owners but he’s only accumulated two quality starts. His 2.42 ERA has him in the top 10 in the American League but his 1.58 WHIP (26 hits and 15 walks in 26 innings) and .361 OBA (On Base % Against) need improvement.
