- Brandon Jones, who was DFA'd on Sunday, has cleared waivers and has been assigned to AAA-Indianapolis. If Jones stays off the 40-man roster for the remainder of the season, he will become a minor league free agent at the end of the year.- The Pirates have signed James Skelton to a minor league deal. Skelton is a 24 year old left-handed hitting catcher who also plays some second base and the corner outfield. It really isn't too bad a signing. Last year, he struggled in the Diamondbacks' system. However, he put up solid numbers between 2006-2008 in Detroit's system as he batted over .300 each of those years. He looks like he will be a good organizational player. And who knows, maybe he can become a backup catcher some day.- Cory Humes has a good post about John Russell's decision to bunt with Lastings Milledge in the 12th inning tonight.
