All Things Rockies:
TUCSON — Catcher Paul Lo Duca came to Rockies’ camp as an insurance policy. While he hasn’t hit much, he has impressed opposing scouts with his receiving skills and versatility. Seattle has watched Lo Duca this spring, and Detroit is another team that is considering adding a veteran backup to help catch its hard-throwing staff.
I haven’t seen much from Lo Duca over the last few years, but I have been impressed with the way he calls a game and works with pitchers. He gets it. I can see why manager Jim Tracy is so fond of him.
