Bourjos after HBP that caused fractured wrist-Courtesy of LA Times Can luck even be inconsistent for the Angels? The team just moments ago did in fact complete the series sweep of the Houston Astros with a 3-1 score, making it six consecutive victories for the Halo’s. Luck is in fact on their side! But wait…. Team officials announced that Peter Bourjos will be placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a fractured right wrist he sustained when he was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning yesterday. Injuries are the only thing slowing down the speedy center fielder this season, as he possesses a .326 batting average in 129 at bats, and is a solid as they come defensively. These unfortunate turn of events for the Angels seem to be happening all too often. Bourjos’s fracture is described as non-displaced, meaning he could play when pain is tolerable, but he will be out for at least two weeks. Mike Trout will now man center field once again, and insert J.B. Shuck back into a starter’s role in left field. Shuck is hitting .389 over his past 12 games, with 8 runs batted in. Maybe even with the bad news, Shuck can continue on the roll he has been on in recent weeks. For the team’s sake, fans better hope so. In the past week, the team has lost Tommy Hanson, Jason Vargas, and now Bourjos to injury. They do, however, keep winning. The Angels open up a three game series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday to begin a six game home stand.
