During this offseason, the biggest free agent on the market Josh Hamilton signed with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Texas Rangers failed to resign him and he decided to sign with their American League West rival the Angels to the tune of 5 yrs/ $125M.
So far Hamilton is batting .207 with only 2 long balls and 9 RBI’s, not quite the stat line the Angeles had anticipated when dishing out the long term contract. The Angels are 11-19, good for 4th place in the AL West.
I noticed during the offseason that many people were predicting the Angels as the World Series favorites for 2013.The likes of Mike Trout ( 2012 AL Rookie of the Year), Mark Trumbo, Albert Pujols, and now Hamilton had many baseball analyses that this was going to be the most dangerous offensive lineup in the majors.
