PLAYERS: Mike Trout
TEAMS: Los Angeles Angels

Los Angeles Angels OF Mike Trout has been one of the most impressive young players to break into the majors in some time. As players report for the start of spring training, it appears to one observer that Trout has packed on a few pounds in the offseason. According to one reporter, Trout now resembles an NFL fullback not a major league outfielder. Mike DiGiovanna tweets, “Last season, #Angels OF Mike Trout looked like an NFL RB. He looks more like a FB now, after gaining 10-15 lbs. He reported at 240 lbs.” The added weight should mean little to his game. Trout had a spectacular 2012 season. He scored 129 runs, recorded 182 hits while batting .329 on the year. He hit 30 home runs, driving in 83 and stealing 49 bases. He is ac omplete player who is poised to super stardom.     The post Los Angeles Angels OF Mike Trout put on a few pounds during the offseason appeared first on Hardball Chat Baseball Blog.

Los Angeles Angles center fielder Mike Trout reported to camp this week looking a little fatter than we expected to say the least. He weighed in at 240 pounds after being listed at 210 last year. Nothing like the freshman 15 right???  Or in his case the freshman 30.  It's safe to say the Angles will have one of the best outfields in the MLB with the addition of Josh Hamilton...

Mike Trout, A Player That Dreams Are Made Of

Sticking with our theme of the day, I must come clean. I love baseball, I love watching baseball, and I enjoy watching players who are not members of my favorite team. But there is one player in particular who gives me the chills every time I see him play. The year was 2008, the Chicago Cubs finished with the second best record in all of baseball and due to the supplemental draft...

LA Angels positional and/or personal Spring Training battles: Position Players

Well, I reviewed the position and personal battles for every pitcher in Angels training camp, so I guess I should do the batters too, right? I really wish I had realized how many freaking people were in camp before I decided to do this, but I made my bed, so I guess I have to lie in it. This is going to take awhile though, so go ahead and run out for a cup of coffee. It's cool...

Nothing wrong with the Angels keeping beer in the clubhouse

The Los Angeles Angels made the big splash this past offseason by signing Josh Hamilton away from the Texas Rangers. Very few questioned the validity of the baseball side of the deal, figuring that a healthy Hamilton is still one of the best hitters in baseball. Hamilton has often struggled with staying healthy, especially last season which saw him begin on a tear, and then had different...

2013 Player Projection: Joe Blanton

Easily the least popular of all the Angels' off-season acquisitions, Joe Blanton is here to stay whether he like it or not. I guess that means I should just do his projections now and get it out of the way. 2012 Stats: 191.0 IP, 10-13, 4.71 ERA. 3.91 FIP, 207 H, 34 BB, 29 HR, 166 SO, 1.39 GB/FB, 2.4 fWAR 2013 ZiPS Projections: 130.1 IP, 4.49 ERA. 4.06 FIP, 140 H, 25 BB...

Jon Lester Is No Mike Trout, But He’s Not Bad at Catching Fish, Either (Photo)

Jon Lester and his fellow Red Sox pitchers are working their way back to Opening Day form, but even spring training leaves them time for other activities. On Wednesday, Lester apparently spent that free time working on his fishing, and he had quite a successful outing. Now, the catch is not as big as the 500-pounder the Angels’ Mike Trout reeled in, but Lester’s catch is still...

The Royals And Latin America

As we all know, Kansas City has carried a dismal baseball franchise since 1985. But as spring training rolls around, we have to again acknowledge how well the Royals have done in the Latin American talent market. Everyone who pays very much attention to the Royals will directly turn there heads up to the sky and wink at their mental image of Salvador Perez, the Royals’ up and...
