Salt Lake Bees (8-4) The Bees continued their winning ways Tuesday night as they beat the 51’s 3-2 in front of 3,091 at Cashman Field. Brad Mills pitched 7.0 strong innings allowing only one earned run off four hits while walking three and striking out three. His 2012 ERA is a sparkling 1.38. I personally wouldn’t mind seeing him up with the big club considering how he has been pitching since spring training. David Pauley came out of the pen and pitched two innings, blowing the save but picking up the win. It was Ryan Langerhans who helped propel the Bees to victory as he went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. A day after pumping the dynamic 1-2 combo of Mike Trout and Alexi Amarista; the pair collectively went 1-for-8 with two strikeouts.
Next up: Eric Hurley takes the mound Wednesday night for the Bees opposite 51’s starter Joel Carreno.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The agreement between the Angels and shortstop Erick Aybar on a contract extension can only be viewed in positive terms, both for the club and the player. By signing Aybar for four years and 35 million after earlier locking up second baseman Howie Kendrick long term, the team has now secured its middle infielders through the 2016 season.
But shelling out big contracts...
It has become one of the questions surrounding the Angels as they've stumbled to a 4-7 start: Why isn't Mark Trumbo playing more?
The young slugger led the team with 29 home runs and 87 RBI last season and finished second in the American League Rookie of the Year voting. However, he was displaced from first base by the signing of Albert Pujols. The plan was to get Trumbo...

ANAHEIM, Calif. If there was a blueprint to the Angels' season, it looked nothing like this.
The pitching was supposed to be dependable every night. The hitting was a sure thing. The defense was solid. But 12 games into the season, there isn't consistency in any area. The Angels lack energy and focus.
Is it any wonder that manager Mike Scioscia addressed his concerns with...

If recent reports are to be believed, it is only a matter of time before the Angels lock up Erick Aybar to a lucrative contract extension. Nothing is official yet, but reports are circling around a contract somewhere in the neighborhood of five years and $50 million for Aybar. That seems to be what Aybar is asking for, anyway. But is that what he should get?
We could debate...
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Bartolo Colon threw 38 consecutive strikes at one point and pitched four-hit ball for eight innings to help the Oakland Athletics beat the cellar-dwelling Los Angeles Angels 6-0 on Wednesday night.
Colon (3-1) struck out five and walked none, helping drop his former team six games behind two-time defending AL champion Texas in the AL West -- just 12 games...
Forgoing free agency is the new hotness. After already locking up his double play partner Howie Kendrick back in January, the Angels gave Erick Aybar a reported four year, $35 million contract extension today. Aybar is under contract for 2012 at just over $5 million, so this represents a pretty nice raise in annual average value, and assuming that the contract covers 2013-2016...
You know... I'm glad the game went the way it did in the 8th because maybe now Scioscia will stop putting so much undeserved trust into Kevin Jepsen. Jesus Christ the guy is garbage, he's always been bad and people think just because he put up a tolerable year in '10 that he's going to somehow find the potential that he doesn't have. Maybe Dipoto will be able...
Though it was a high-profile matchup in its own right, Sunday’s matchup between the Angels and Yankees was no match for Red Sox/Yankees a year earlier. The Angels/Yankees ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ game drew 2.830 million viewers on ESPN Sunday night, down 40% from Red Sox/Yankees on the second weekend of the season last year (4.697M), but up 32% from Cardinals/Brewers in 2010...
The Los Angeles Angels returned home and recorded a much-needed win after a rough road trip.
Now, they hope to get Dan Haren back on track.
Haren will try to help the Angels win consecutive games for the first time this season Tuesday night against the Oakland Athletics.
After going 2-4 at Minnesota and New York, Los Angeles (4-6) avoided a third consecutive home loss with a 6...
