Wow, Shaun Marcum must be feeling like the weight of the world has been lifted off his shoulders. The righthander tossed eight scoreless innings as the Mets beat the White Sox by the score of 3-0 tonight at U.S. Cellular Field. Marcum was solid all night long allowing just four hits and walking two with two strikeouts. He had some great defense behind him including some spectacular plays from Omar Quintanilla and Josh Satin.. For Marcum he lowers his ERA to 5.08, but more importantly for him, he gets his first win of the season to improve to 1-9. Take a bow Shaun, you’re off the schneid. Bobby Parnell came out for the ninth and delivered a 1-2-3 innings for the save, his 13th of the season. Offensively, the Mets did all their scoring in the fifth when Josh Satin and Andrew Brown both singled. Then with Juan Lagares at the plate, he reaches on a two-base error by Alexei Ramirez that allowed Satin and Brown to score. Lagares then came scampering home with the third run after an RBI si...
