Ichiro’s parents run an Ichiro museum in Japan

Don’t look now, but the MLB regular season kicks off next week with the A’s and Mariners doing a two-game stint in Japan. Already the media is over in the Land of the Rising Sun filing reports. That includes Seattle Times reporter Geoff Baker’s piece on an Ichiro museum owned and operated by Ichiro’s own parents in Toyoyama. Nobuyuki and Yoshie Suzuki have run the business...

There is, first of all, the issue of limited sample size (which leaves authors like the present one performing regression gymnastics). Beyond that, spring...

Not a Fan of ball in Japan

The Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners will begin their regular season schedules playing each other for two games in Japan. The games will occur nearly a full week before anyone else is playing regular season baseball. Why is that? Do people really like this idea? After the two games are played, the two teams will not have any more regular season baseball until a week later....

Ichiro’s mother and father opened the Ichiro Exhibition Room...
