M’s land versatile infielder Looking to build some infield depth, the Seattle Mariners have acquired Robert Andino from the Baltimore Orioles for outfielder Trayvon Robinson. With a surplus of outfielders, and a lack of depth in the middle infield, this is a trade purely for depths sake. In his career, Andino has played second, third, shortstop, left and centerfield. This past season, he posted a .588 OPS with 7 home runs and 5 stolen bases. Robinson hit .221/.294/.324 with 3 home runs and 6 stolen bases in 46 games with the M’s in 2012. While Andino provides defensive depth, his glove isn’t exactly golden. He owns a career 2.4 UZR. His best positions are second and short, with an average UZR of 1.4 between the two.
