West preseason favorite, the A’s.  The Mariners will go to the back end of the rotation, Roenis Elias and Chris Young, before going back to Opening Day starter Felix Hernandez and Erasmo Ramirez.  The A’s have already juggled their rotation due to some early...

Mariners' Charlie Furbush hit by liner, leaves game

The Seattle Mariners marched to a 10-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels last night thanks to a masterful performance by Felix Hernandez and a 6-run top of the ninth.  There was a scary moment though in the seventh inning when reliever Charlie Furbush took a hard line drive off his leg.  Greg Johns of MLB.com tweets: Trout lines single off Furbush's knee. Furbush coming out...

Break on Through to the Other Side Dustin Ackley

Dustin Ackley was the 2nd overall pick in the 2009 Amateur Draft and debuted with the Mariners in 2011, on June 17th. Before his callup, with Tacoma, in the Pacific Coast League, Ackley slashed .303/.421/.487 and continued on at the highest level to the tune of .273/.348/.417. Respectable numbers, especially from the two-bag and Dustin Ackley was on the fantasy radar and a trendy...

Mariners Down Angels 8-3 Behind Two Home Runs from Brad Miller

The Seattle Mariners brought home another victory Tuesday night, defeating the Los Angeles Angels 8-3. Erasmo Ramirez went seven strong innings, and received more than enough offensive support. The 23 year-old Ramirez had a tough act to follow after Felix Hernandez thoroughly dominated the Angels the previous night. However, the right-hander did his best, striking out six Halos...

Dodgers Claim Carlos Triunfel Off Of Waivers From Mariners

The Dodgers have claimed shortstop Carlos Triunfel off of waivers from the Mariners, the club announced via press release. Triunfel has been optioned to Triple-A. That brings an end to a disappointing tenure for Triunfel in Seattle, which designated him for assignment on Friday. Once a consensus top-100 prospect, Triunfel saw only limited big league action with his former club....

Miller double dips, Erasmo shines as Mariners improve to 2-0

I'm going to spoil everything before we even begin. BRAD MILLER WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Proceed. The first lefty test. We've all known for a while that the Mariners were probably going to struggle against lefties given their stacked side, but the extent was always unknown. Smoak's had weird flip-flopping splits, Ackley was fine against them when he was good, and Cano hits...

Mariners 8, Angels 2 — A series sweep to start the season

So the Mariners are now 3-0 and with a series sweep of Anaheim to start the season. It’s a stunning accomplishment if you look at past history. It was the first three-game series sweep Anaheim since 2006. It was the first time since 1995 that Seattle had won three straight games to start a season. It was also the first time since 1985 the team started off the season with a three...

Felix Hernandez and Jose Fernandez Dominate on Opening Day

Baseball is back. After a five month layoff, teams are playing meaningful games again. On Opening Day, aces Felix Hernandez and Jose Fernandez looked as though they hadn’t missed a beat. The Seattle Mariners ace worked six innings Monday night. He surrendered two earned runs, both on a two-run shot by Mike Trout. Of the 25 hitters he faced, Hernandez tallied 11 strikeouts, while...

Daily Fantasy Baseball Studs Buster Posey and Felix Hernandez Win Big

Perhaps you added someone such as Jimmy Rollins, Nelson Cruz or Anthony Rendon on the cheap and were awarded with power numbers that belted you past your competition? No matter what it was, Opening Day was a Grand Slam! But the fun isn’t over yet. Oh no...

Boxscore Breakdown Game #3: Where’s the panic button? – Mariners 8, Angels 2

Has anyone seen the panic button? Asking for a friend. Nothing to do with the Angels getting swept at home by the Mariners. Nope. Not related at all. Run Expectancy Rundown Wow, a great job from the top two guys in the order creating runs, surely that must be the recipe for offensive success. The only way it wouldn’t work is if the #3 hitter completely fuc- Oh, he did. Thanks...
