Miami Marlins first baseman Casey Kotchman left Wednesday's game at the Washington Nationals with a strained left hamstring. The Marlins listed him as day to day. Kotchman clutched at the back of his upper left leg as he ran through first base while grounding into a double play in the fifth inning. After crossing the bag, he tumbled to the ground. Kotchman hobbled across the diamond to the visiting dugout. In the bottom of the fifth, Greg Dobbs replaced him in the field at first. The gametime temperature was 45 degrees. We are still the MIAMI Marlins

Take a trip to one of our quaint “Cafeterias”. Order a cortadito and spark up a conversation about the Marlins with whomever may be around, and you will quickly notice one thing. There is an undeniable divide in the South Florida sporting community these days. While most will side with those who are angry, the ones’ who are supportive can be just as ardent in backing the team...

Miami Finally Scores in Loss

Justin Ruggiano’s solo home run in the second inning on Thursday gave the Miami Marlins their first run of the 2013 season but that was all they were able to compile in a 6-1 loss to the Washington Nationals.   The loss completed a three game sweep in the first series of the year.   Once again, Miami received a decent start from their starting pitcher as Wade LeBlanc kept the...

Pitching Can’t Win Everything

Throughout the opening series for the Miami Marlins, starting pitching showed up and, for the most part, did quite well. A couple hiccups here and there, but over the course of facing a lineup two or three times, it’s bound to happen. The Marlins’ starters only allowed 6 runs over the 3 games (5 of them earned) over 16.1 IP, and while the bullpen did falter in the series finale...
